| Brussels, Belgium, 1880 - 1958. Le Mayeur studied painting from his father and was also a pupil of Blanc-Garin in Brussels, Belgium. His first visit to Bali was in 1929 and he returned again in 1932, living in Sanur until 1958. In 1935 Le Mayeur married Ni Pollok, a Balinese dancer who was the model for many of his paintings. He had exhibitions in Singapore in 1931 and 1941. Le Mayeur donated his house and studio in Sanur with all his remaining paintings to the Indonesian Government, and it is now the Le Mayeur Museum. | ||
