| b. Bandung, W. Java, Indonesia, 1973. Ay Tjoe Christine was born in 1973 in Bandung, West Java. Indonesia. She graduated from Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Indonesia in 1997. She has participated at numerous group exhibitions locally and internationally since 1994 in Bandung, Jakarta, Beijing, Hong Kong, Koeln, Singapore, Shanghai, and Melbourne, among others are Closing the Gap: Indonesian Contemporary Art, Melbourne International Fine Art Gallery, Melbourne, Australia (2011), Awareness-Indonesian Art Today, Canvas International Art, Netherlands (2009), Manifesto, Galeri Nasional Indonesia, Jakarta (2008) and Equatorial Heat, Shanghai Museum, China (2004). She also participated in international art fairs such as Hong Kong Art Fair, Art Paris, Scope Miami, Art Singapore and CIGE. She is the winner of SCMP Art Futures Prize 2009, Hong Kong Art Fair. Her first solo exhibition was held in 2001 in Bandung, and since then she held several other solo shows in Jakarta, Surabaya, Hong Kong, and Singapore. |
