| Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, 1956. Supria studied in the studio of Dukut Hendronoto (1970-73) and then continued his studies at SMSR/SSRI Fine Art High School in Yogyakarta (1975-77). Since 1976 he has participated in numerous exhibitions in Indonesia, The Netherlands, Switzerland, USA, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei, Japan and Australia. He has had several solo exhibitions in Jakarta and Singapore. Awards received include the General Award for Art by the Society for American-Indonesian Friendship, 1978; Best Painting Award at the Fourth Indonesian Painting Biennial in Jakarta, 1981; Adam Malik Prize, 1986; Affandi Prize, 1993; and he was one of the Top Ten prize winners in the Indonesian Art Awards Prize in 1997. |
