In Duduk di Suasana Tenteram (1995), Chusin Setiadikara captures a moment of quiet introspection through the contemplative presence of two women. Their intertwined yet distinct postures establish a subtle dialogue between stillness and movement, inviting the viewer into a private world of thought and reverie. Flowing blue garments provide a striking counterpoint to the vivid geometric planes of green, yellow, and red in the background, revealing the artist's sensitivity to composition, colour, and the expressive potential of the human form.

Born in Bandung in 1949, Chusin studied under renowned painter Barli Sasmitawinata before relocating to Bali in 1987, where he further developed his distinctive approach to realism. His artistic achievements include the 1996 Philip Morris ASEAN Art Awards, while his works have entered prestigious international collections, notably the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum in Japan.

Duduk di Suasana Tenteram offers an evocative glimpse into Chusin's exploration of figurative expression, where femininity, solitude, and the unspoken rhythms of everyday life converge in a composition of remarkable visual harmony.
